Headroom Notes
MkII raised maximum mic input level from +5.5 to +9.7 dBu over the MkI. The MkI figure was the real complaint about that generation: a loud source at minimum gain could still clip the input.
Gain Staging Advice
-130.5 dBu EIN is the lowest published noise figure in this batch and it is close to the thermal floor of a 150 Ohm source, so there is little room left to improve. Combined with 64 dB of gain it will run an SM7B without an inline booster, if without much spare.
Amplification Warning
The headphone output measures under 1 Ohm and puts out +13 dBu (3.46 V). Both matter: low output impedance keeps multi-driver in-ears tonally neutral, and 3.46 V is enough for 250-300 Ohm studio headphones.
