Gain Staging Advice
58 dB and EIN below -128 dBu for the price of a good microphone cable. Smart Gain sets the level automatically, which is convenient and irrelevant to the ceiling: with an SM7B you still end up at the top of the range.
Amplification Warning
The EVO headphone amp is a different animal from the iD range: 2.48 V into 600 Ohm against 5.46 V, and an output impedance under 50 Ohm rather than a fraction of an Ohm. With low-impedance in-ears that 50 Ohm will colour the sound.
